La Baita, Faenza, and Forli

La Baita (Via Naviglio 25/C, Faenza, Italy)

Went to dine at this highly recommended osteria at Faenza. Was a rainy day. Fully booked when we arrived at 12.30 pm - waiting time 30 minutes. Had a walk around Faenza. Food - 3.5/5. Not too bad. But probably not worth the long trip.

After the lunch, visited Forli - haven't seen any particular interesting attractions. A church at the central square was built in medieval times, but redeveloped with some Baroque style. An ice cream shop sold nice fruit ice cream - the pear flavour was particular good.

Then, drove around the hills in the south of Faenza and Forli. Very scenic view.

Bologna Countryside

Went to a countryside house to collect (free range organic) eggs and nettles. Those hens were very happy to see us because we brought bread (they love bread). The sky was gloomy (likely due to the volcanic ashes) but the large green field was beautiful to see.

We then went to a bird watching preservation area to see cranes, herons and other water birds. Beautiful natures. Cranes nesting. Lots of "wild" vegetations. I've never seen such a high density of pheasants.
